Don Delaplain
Don moved to Eugene when he was 5. He is the son of a contractor and began in the construction industry in his early teens. He graduated from North Eugene High School and earned an Associate’s degree from LCC. He also took many classes from Palm Desert Community College in Business & marketing. For the next 20 years he traveled the entire country, and parts of South America, working on golf course development projects. By the mid 2000’s Don had completed many trade school classes and achieved certificates in specialized training from marketing, sales, OSHA training and design training.
In the mid 2000’s he decided to work more locally and began remodeling homes in the Lane County area. This developed into specializing in the design and construction of bathroom remodeling projects where he has been involved with around 500 remodels.
Don is the husband of Debbie. He has four children and one step-daughter. He enjoys the outdoors and spending time at the family cabin in Crescent and hanging out with their 3 chocolate labs.
Debbie Delaplain
Debbie was born and raised in Oregon. She graduated from North Bend High School and went on to OSU to receive a BS in Elementary Education. She has been a teacher for 30 years. Currently she is a reading specialist who works with students who are at risk of not reaching the benchmarks in reading.
Bella is a Chocolate Lab who has been raised at school with Debbie. She is a certified therapy dog who also is R.E.A.D certified (Reading Education Assistance Dog.) Bella accompanies Debbie to school daily and lends an “ear” for students learning how to read, comforts them when they are down, and is an all around buddy to everyone who attends and works at Pleasant Hill Elementary.
Debbie has an affinity for gardening. She finds it relaxing and very rewarding to harvest fruits, vegetables, and pick bouquets for the table. As a child she was always helping her grandmother and father in the garden and finds it very therapeutic to dig in the dirt!
Don and Debbie have been married two years and have five children between them. They love to build houses together and are actually working on their second project currently. They are a great team who divide and conquer all projects together. They enjoy the design aspect of building, negotiating the details, and producing a quality living space.
Their happy place is a cabin that they built together on the Little Deschutes River. It is where they can unwind, go fishing and hunting, and let their three dogs enjoy the out-of-doors. Two years ago they were married there and plan to have this land in the Delaplain family for generations to come.
